If you're searching for the best Indian restaurant in London for a special evening out, or simply a brilliant meal before a night in Fulham, two menus at Pure Indian Cooking deserve your attention: Chef Shilpa Dandekar's tasting menu and our great-value early dinner menu. One is a slow, multi-course journey through the kitchen. The other is a relaxed two or three courses at an early hour. Both show what pure, modern Indian cooking can be.
Why food lovers come to Fulham
Pure Indian Cooking has been serving modern Indian food on Fulham High Street since 2015. Our founders, Chef Shilpa Dandekar and Faheem Vanoo, both began their careers with the Taj Group in India. Shilpa went on to cook at Quilon, one of the first Indian restaurants in the UK to earn a Michelin star, and then became head chef at Raymond Blanc's Brasserie Blanc.
That journey shapes everything on the plate: authentic Indian flavour, fresh ingredients and the precision of classical technique. It's why we see ourselves as a luxury Indian restaurant in Fulham that never loses the warmth of a neighbourhood favourite.
The tasting menu: a journey through the kitchen
Our Indian tasting menu is the clearest expression of Chef Shilpa's cooking. At £68 per person (including 20% VAT), it takes you through the kitchen one course at a time:
- Pani Puri Shots: a playful, tangy start, inspired by India's favourite street snack.
- Crispy Buttermilk Chicken, marinated overnight in buttermilk and aromatic spices, and Patra Chaat: colocasia leaves with yoghurt, date and tamarind chutney, pomegranate and sev.
- Lamb Chops, a French-trimmed rack with carrot and raw papaya salad, and Methi Malai Chicken Tikka with cream, fenugreek, cardamom and mace.
- Panfried Seabass & Mixed Seafood in a sauce of black and yellow mustard, lime leaves, coconut milk and raw mango.
- Kokum Granita: a cool, refreshing pause before the main course.
- Lamb Sukke, Maharashtrian-style, with asparagus poriyal, dal makhani and naan.
- Gulab Jamun Chocolate Brownie: a rich, modern take on a classic Indian sweet.
- Coffee & Petit Fours to close the evening.

Every course moves between textures and temperatures: crisp and soft, spiced and cooling, light and rich. Nothing on the plate is there by accident. It's the kind of dinner that makes Pure Indian Cooking a contender for the best Indian tasting menu in London, and a natural choice for anniversaries, birthdays and celebrations.
"Great ingredients also inspire great dishes — it's as simple as that."Chef Shilpa Dandekar
